Slowly it opens and reveals what’s inside.
A gathering of brave warriors enters the abyss.
Descending the levels of mystic evil.
Swinging their swords and axes around the halls.
Digging their way through endless swarms of monsters.
Looking for an entrance to delve even deeper.
Slay the mighty witch and grant access to the crypt.

These hallways are endless, roaming forever.
Every chamber looks the same.
The only way out is death.
This battle will never end.
Undead goblins riding on giant spiders.
Zombie knights, spawned by the necromancer.
Behind every door, a new challenge awaits us.
We must continue to go deeper.
Exploring every level of this filthy endless dungeon.
We will win the battle and claim the grand prize.
Therefore we slay the largest dragons in the deepest crypts.
But we lost the path so we will fight until the grave.

Inside the lonely tower a source of light appeared.
A vast expanse of tunnels stretching miles in all directions.
Yet the spells will make you lost and move the walls around.
The corridors are filled with endless dwelling skeletons.
They are all that remains from the previous fools,
that ever attempted to loot the cells of sorcery.
The magic tries to lure you deeper into the dark.
Endless halls with countless prison cells containing long forgotten warriors who never made it out because of the misleading spells.
This place is timeless, the curse will never end.

Au moyen-âge, la justice des hommes était expéditive : après avoir prouvé qu'une femme était une sorcière en comparant son poids avec celui d'un canard, elle était brûlée sans ménagement. Chez Old Nick, ça fonctionne à l'envers : dans Witch Of The Northern Vill, ce sont elles qui font la loi et les synthés sont là pour nous apprendre à avoir peur d'elles jusqu'à en claquer des dents (sur la piste éponyme). Pleines de personnalité, elles sont mystiques, grandioses et sournoises — et drôles !

Comme tant d'autres artistes regroupés au sein du label Grime Stone Records, Mossen invite dans son premier album éponyme à faire une ballade en forêt mais certainement pas dans un esprit de frivolité comique ou de romantisme pastoral. Le raw black metal lugubre de Mossen est très bruitiste et fait l'effet d'une chute dans un buis de ronces. Abysmal Specter, qui assure le chant, ne joue plus le rôle de bouffon comme on a pu souvent l'entendre mais de fantômes errant dans les bois. Un bon début !
